”In 'Magic for Benjamin’, for e.g. we are told the story of the 'Indian Rope Trick', an impossible illusion over which the greatest magicians of the beginning of the 20th century obsessed about and that was finally accomplished by Joseph Dunninger, but only through photographic editing and manipulation. (…) Artistic creation is more and more built on a cross fire of heritages and juxtaposed imagery infinitely reproduced and appropriated, leaving us with the question if trickery and art have something in common?”
